QUBIS CHOSEN AS INNOVATE UK INVESTOR PARTNER TO ACCELERATE DEEPTECH

QUBIS is excited to announce that we have been chosen as one of the Investor Partners by Innovate UK. We take great pride in being one of the few early–stage spin–out–focused investors in the esteemed Investor Partner Network, which includes several renowned venture capitalists.

The Investor Partnership Programme presents a unique opportunity for high–growth and innovative UK companies to secure the necessary funding for their success and expansion. This program is specifically designed to support micro, small, and medium–sized enterprises (SMEs) that are actively engaged in cutting–edge deep tech projects within Innovate UK’s Future Economy areas, namely Net Zero, Healthy Living and Agriculture, and Next Generation Digital Technologies.

Over the course of three years, this initiative aims to expedite the growth of Future Economy–focused SMEs by aligning grant funding for research and development (R&D) with matching investments from credible investor partnerships.

QUBIS has previously been recognised as the leading university Technology Transfer Office in the UK, demonstrating notable returns to investors based on the 2019 and 2020 Octopus Ventures Entrepreneurial Impact Ranking Reports. Additionally, QUBIS plays a crucial role in spearheading the design and implementation of entrepreneurship programmes across the UK and Europe. As a key delivery partner in the Innovate UK–funded ICURe program, we have played a significant role in the establishment of over 200 deep–tech spin–out companies.

Brian McCaul, CEO of QUBIS, commented on this significant achievement, stating, “We are thrilled to be chosen as an investor partner by Innovate UK, which further enhances our credibility. The analysis in the ‘Levelling Up the United Kingdom’ report indicates that Northern Ireland ranks at the bottom in terms of venture capital, and QUBIS is determined to help bridge this gap. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with Innovate UK to strengthen our commitment to supporting innovative deep–tech companies in Northern Ireland, providing them with the necessary financing to grow and scale. The specific themes for the future economy, including net zero, health and wellbeing, and next–generation digital technologies, align perfectly with QUBIS’ deep tech focus areas.”
